About the Event

This seminar and mini career expo will provide an overview of New Zealand’s world-class geothermal industry, the exciting current and future career opportunities within it, and training and education pathways into these.

The event is intended to provide useful information and contacts for secondary school staff who provide career advice to secondary school students, such as career advisors and STEAM teachers.

From exploration, planning and construction of geothermal powerstations and related industries, to operating and servicing these, the variety of roles are almost endless. Pathways into the industry are equally varied, encompassing trade apprenticeships, technical training and professional qualifications, at both undergraduate and graduate level, as well as on-the-job training. What these career pathways all lead to are well-paid, world-class jobs in the regions, with skills that are in demand not only in New Zealand, but also overseas.

Speakers will include staff from leading industry companies, as well as vocational training and higher education providers who offer training that can lead to roles within the industry. See the program for details.

Pre-registration is required to attend this event, and financial assistance towards release teacher costs and travel costs to enable attendance is available for schools that need this.
