Ranier is a geothermal engineer and public administrator specializing in geothermal policy,
regulation, including renewable energy. As Chief Science Research Specialist at the
Philippine Department of Energy, he leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for
developing policies and regulatory frameworks that enable geothermal development, foster
innovation, and improve investment readiness. His professional interests include resource
management, emerging geothermal technologies, direct-use / non-power applications, and
collaboration to advance the global energy transition.
