The future growth of geothermal in Aotearoa New Zealand will depend not only on the continued development of existing technologies, but also on our ability to advance next-generation geothermal systems and the science, innovation and policy settings needed to support them.
This New Zealand Geothermal Week session brings together leaders from across industry, science, research and government to explore how New Zealand can position itself to unlock the opportunities presented by advanced geothermal technologies, including supercritical and superhot geothermal systems, Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) and Advanced Geothermal Systems (AGS). The session is designed to support implementation of the New Zealand Geothermal Strategy Action Plan, particularly Pillar 5: Advancing Geothermal Science, Research and Innovation.
