About the Event
Hosted by Women in Geothermal, this inspirational seminar event for secondary school students will highlight a world of possibilities in the New Zealand geothermal industry, by sharing the exciting and varied careers of young people who have joined this world-class and growing industry.
From planning and construction to power generation, related industries that use geothermal heat or brine for their processes and products, service and consulting firms that support the industry, and scientific research to create future technologies and opportunities, the variety is almost endless. Pathways into the industry are equally varied, encompassing trade apprenticeships, technical training and professional qualifications, at both undergraduate and graduate level, as well as on-the-job training. What these career pathways all lead to are well-paid, world-class jobs in the regions, with skills that are in demand not only in New Zealand, but also overseas.
This event will provide good food-for-thought for students looking at industry / career options to inform their subject choices and further training decisions.
This event is limited to secondary school students and their chaperones, and pre-registration will be required for entry to the event.
Spaces are strictly limited to 100 people, so be sure to register quickly!
