About the Event
This field trip will give you the opportunity to learn about TaupÅ's brand new eco-business park, He Ahi. During the visit you will hear from the first of He Ahi's tenants - fertiliser manufacturer, Tnue, and enhanced energy recovery specialists, CaSil - as well as learning more about the developments at He Ahi from its kaitiaki, Te Pae o Waimihia. He Ahi prioritises sustainable practises, using geothermal heat to power its tenants' processes.
Following this, we will head to Phoenix Recycling Group's new recycling plant, where Minister for Climate Change, Simon Watts, will officially open the site. We will have the opportunity to learn more about Phoenix's processes and their efforts towards a circular economy.
This field trip will depart from Mavericks Gastropub, 650 Lake Terrace, at 9.15am, and return at 12pm.Â
This event is kindly sponsored by Phoenix Metalman Recycling.
