About the Event

During this field trip we will learn about some of the major geothermal achievements within the Taupō region.

Sawmill, Tenon Clearwood, has been using geothermal heat for its kiln-drying since 2007, recognising its environmental and sustainable benefits. Tauhara Geothermal Power Station is Contact Energy's newest geothermal power station, set to provide up to 174 MW of power once it is at full capacity.

This field trip will depart from Mavericks Gastropub, 650 Lake Terrace, at 1.45pm, and return at 5pm.
