About the Event
Warm geothermal groundwater resources are distributed throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, encompassing areas from the central North Island and the Alpine Fault in the South Island to numerous hot spring locations nationwide, with accessible resources at depths of approximately 1 km across the country. Leveraging these resources is central to advancing geoheat opportunities and supporting New Zealand’s transition towards renewable energy solutions.
This panel aligns with the New Zealand Geothermal Strategy’s “From the Ground Up” Action Plan, specifically targeting the goal to advance knowledge and uptake of existing geothermal technologies and geoheat applications.
The session will open with a presentation from EECA, providing an overview of geoheat matters and EECA’s current investments in geoheat projects.
