About the Event

Applying STEAM to understand more about our local geothermal industry

Here’s a good reason to inject some steam into your classroom STEAM activities this term!

GNS Science are proud to again sponsor this year’s Geothermal School Science Competitions, helping to spark curiosity about STEAM in the next generation and grow understanding of how STEAM is relevant to this uniquely New Zealand source of energy.

Primary school teams are challenged to explain how natural geothermal features are inter-connected with human uses of geothermal resources. Winning teams will win a year’s subscription to House of Science for their school!

Secondary school teams are challenged to recommend a national portfolio of future energy sources that will enable New Zealand to meet its Net Carbon Zero energy goals. Each member of the winning team will win their very own iPad!

See attached flyers for details, including the competition brief, rules and eligibility criteria and how to submit entries.

This event has been possible with the generous support of GNS Science www.gns.cri.nz
