Well, now you can find out! As part of NZ Geothermal Week 2026, Contact is opening the doors of the Tauhara power station to the public

This guided tour of the Tauhara power station will allow you a behind the scenes view of this 174MW capacity station that can generate enough electricity to power over 220,000 Kiwi homes – around 3.5% of the country's electricity!

This event is FREE; but pre-registration is essential to reserve your spot, with limited spaces available.
