About the Event

Join us for our very first Women in Tech lunch event, where we have two inspirational female speakers who are experts in their field.  Come along to hear about robots and automation, NFTs and women doing amazing things with tech.

We have invited 3 inspiring speakers who will present on topics related to tech, innovation and women in the Tech sector:

Sharyn Catt (Virtual Blue) Sharyn is the Managing Director and founder of Virtual Blue. We specialise in intelligent automation technologies such as robotic process automation and artificial intelligence, to support business transformation.  She has held various corporate roles including project management, team leadership and continuous improvement. But decided to get into business for herself.  A couple of her biggest achievements include winning the WIITCA Entrepreneur Award last year and completing a Bachelor of Science – majoring in Psychology as an adult student while working full time.

Leanne Bats ( Cool Points Club) Leanne Bats is a Climate Tech Entrepreneur, working to reimagine climate action for the new era.  Leanne believes to take action where it needs to go it must meet culture head on and become relevant.   Leanne a has Co-Founded Cool Points Club who are building the world's first Digital Carbon Sponge™ (NFTs that work to remove real world carbon) through their own brand 'Islands of Cool' and later in the year partnering with Shopify to enable Merchants the ability to mint their own Digital Carbon Sponge™ NFTs.  Leanne has a background in marketing and business development, having worked with some of the world's most renowned brands.  Leanne holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing, with a minor in Psychology from University of Otago, New Zealand.

Valerie Wilton (Head of Digital, Destination Great Lake Taupō) Valerie is a passionate and data driven digital marketer who believes that content and marketing plays a core role in creating relevant and meaningful moments with audiences. Being technology led, she believes the right tools will not only enhance your approach, but also increase results. Valerie has previously played a critical role in the successful implementation and roll out of technologies into organisations including inbound marketing and automation, an employee advocacy program, and B2B account-based marketing for lead generation.
