Fiona Miller

Geothermal Cluster Lead

Fiona is the newly-appointed Geothermal Cluster Lead at Amplify.

She has over 20 years’ experience in the innovation space both here in New Zealand and in North California, mostly in the life science and agribusiness sectors, and has consulted to geothermal service companies.  Fiona’s career passion is seeing emerging technologies and industries achieve commercial success, and helping “connect the dots” to make this happen.  This includes experience in developing strategy and business cases for early stage start-ups through to large corporates and multiple stakeholder collectives, and securing funding to help these fly.

Fiona holds Science and Applied (Animal) Science degrees from Massey, and an MBA from UC Berkeley with a focus on biotech and entrepreneurship.

Since moving to Taupō in 2003 with her geothermal engineer husband, Fiona has raised three young kids and enjoys exploring the lake, the mountains and the bike trails with them (and trying to keep up!).  She is actively involved with her local community, holding volunteer and trustee roles with Taupō Family Playcentre, Taupō Educational Preschool Trust and Waipahihi School.
