Tourism Product Development Lead
We’re seeking a fixed term contractor to join our team. You’ll be tasked with supporting the identification, ideation and development of new tourism products (e.g. accommodation, activity, experience and events) across the Taupō District; and prepare pre-feasibility assessments for consideration by stakeholders and investors.
The role is a shared function between Enterprise Great Lake Taupō (the economic development agency) and Destination Great Lake Taupō (the regional tourism organisation). The role will work closely across both organisations, and with our numerous stakeholders across the district including Council, Central Government, iwi and developers.
Core accountabilities for the contract include undertaking a tourism product audit, contributing to the wider Destination Management and Centre for Geothermal Excellence workstreams, engaging with product developers and central government agencies to advance opportunities and leading at least one ideation project.
Our ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in project management and stakeholder engagement, and experience in developing/writing pre-feasibility and/or investment cases. A good knowledge of the region and experience in Destination Management is an advantage.
This is a 12 month fixed-term contract, with potential for renewal.
