Partnerships Manager, Taupo
We are looking for an inspirational leader to join the Partnerships Group as a Partnerships Manager. This is an exciting new role and an exciting time at DOC, you have an opportunity to lead a key programme of work for the Department - Landscape Scale Restoration projects.
Landscape restoration projects are about working with key partners to achieve shared outcomes across large landscapes to accelerate conservation for NZ.
The primary focus of the Partnerships Manager is to work with Iwi, DOC staff, external partners and communities to scope, design and enable implementation of landscape restoration projects across the Central North Island. The role will help deliver on the Department's Predator Free 2050 initiative but will also achieve outcomes across conservation, as well as supporting partner aspirations across the four wellbeings; social, economic, environmental and cultural.
The other focus is providing leadership support to a team of Partnership Development Advisers located in Hamilton, Taupo, New Plymouth and Rotorua. Experience leading, and inspiring distributed teams would be an advantage.
As this role includes a strong partnership development and relationship management component, a sound appreciation and understanding of how to build relationships internally and externally will be needed to achieve goals.
Previous conservation experience is not necessary. We're looking for someone who has a keen interest and transferrable experience and skills to make a difference for people and our natural environment.
