About the role:
Genesis Energy is New Zealand's largest energy retailer, supplying electricity, natural gas and LPG to more than half a million customers across the country and providing almost 20% of New Zealand's electricity. Our portfolio of thermal and renewable generation sites across the country are significant assets to Genesis, and as such, we need to ensure we meet and exceed our environmental obligations, both today and in the future.
Due to an internal promotion, we have a great opportunity for an Environmental Coordinator to join us at Tokaanu Power Station, on the southern shores of Lake Taupo. This role will see you supporting environmental management, consent implementation and compliance for the Tongariro Power Scheme in a manner consistent with core business values, the Resource Management Act 1991, and relevant statutory legislation.
Minimum 3 years' practical NZ based experience in an Environmental role.
A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental management, science or equivalent.
Working knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991, as well as other statutory and planning processes.
Exposure to liaising with local Iwi and key stakeholders.
You'll be a natural communicator, and a key contributor to enhancing our long-term relationships with Iwi and key stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, as is flexibility to travel to other sites/Power Stations as necessary.
Genesis is proud to be an inclusive workplace. We celebrate difference, diversity and aim to empower our employees by recognising the benefit of flexible working. We want to set our employees up to thrive, so speak to us about flexibility and what'd make this role work for you. We also reward our staff with a strong remuneration and benefits package, a collaborative, fun culture, and ongoing development opportunities.
